Pros:
Very fast 2D , support for 8megs SGRAM , high speed
RAMDAC (230mhz) , suports X2 AGP
Cons:
Poor real world performance , expensive. Unreliable
(i.e. some games run great , others are terrible)

According to synthetic benchmarks , the Rage Pro based Xpert@Play ranks
as one of the fastest 2D and 3D accelerators. Unfortunately , its real
world performance is far from commendable. The only true strengths in this
card is the quality NT drivers , good 2D performance , and the high
speed RAMDAC. The x2 AGP support isn't beneficial yet , since the system
bus cant keep up with it. The 3D performance , though supposedly one of
the fastest (2nd fastest in Winbench98 according to www.mercury.org)
It lacks both speed and image quality in many Direct3D games on the market.
Also , with no OpenGL drivers available , the Xpert@Play cannot run accelerated
Quake(2) , another disadvantage to all the Quake gamers out there. The
Xpert does have its advantages , as *almost* all cards do. It is an excellent
2D performer (right up with the Millenium II) and provides enough ram and
a fast enough RAMDAC for 1600x1200xtrue color. Even though the Xpert@play
makes a quality 2D card , it is very expensive (~220$ for 8meg version)
and I would not recommend purchasing it. Look at Permedia 2 based boards
instead.
