A newly enlisted soldier
in the Israeli army went up to his commanding officer one day and requested
a 3 day leave of absence. The commander , starting at him , yelled , "You
would have to create a miracle to get a 3 day leave of absence." The soldier
agreed to the terms and set off in an Israeli tank the next day.
A few hours later , he returned
to the military base in an Arab tank.
The commander , gaping in awe
, gave the soldier his 3 day leave of absence. "I must admit , that truly
was amazing , how did you do it?"
"Well" , replied the soldier
, "I was driving near Arab territory when I spotted an Arab tank. I raised
a white flag as did he. I got out of my tank and said 'Do you want a 3
day leave of absence ?' 'Yes' , he replied , so we exchanged tanks."
